I use the formula:


  spark length (inches) = 1.7*sqrt power (wall plug watts)


to figure the likely approximate spark length from an efficient
Tesla coil.  This works well for classic TCs and for magnifiers.  

NSTs can draw more than their rated power in a TC circuit
especially when using an SRSG or STSG.  

My TT-42 TC uses a robust 12/30 NST, SRSG, and 4" x 13"
toroid and produces 42" sparks.

who knows what happened to the Original tesla magnifier?

And

with a 12kv @ 30 mA and a 17 turn(variable) with 30 degree slope and a 15nf

Cap, what is the best performance to make a magnifier and how long will

streamers be(according to 17 turns and magnifier ratios) ?
