no... the current is limited by the huge (equivalent) inductance in series with the HV, which is created by how the transformer is made. You can knock out some of the "shunts" in the core, if you have a transformer which has been depotted, and that will increase the current.

Or, you can just hook multiple NSTs in parallel


and can i connect a simple geissler tube to my coil and ground to produce
X-rays?

Not really.. the voltage isn't high enough. You need to be up in the 30kV range to start producing significant x-rays.
