Well done, Finn. Now, i am curious to see if the ideal tuning point changes much as youapproach full output power for this system. I found with some of my coilsthat i could achieve this idealistic looking primary current and goodperformance, but with other coils the current would always "blow up" at theend and id lose the notch, seemingly no matter how i tuned the thing, thenotch would not come back when at full power. I suspect it has something to do with the secondary Q dropping so much due to the streamers, but i haventjustified this in any formal way yet.
Steve,We did not have time to do much investigation, but the tuning point did move lower on the primary as streamers developed. So if there still are notches at full power, then we will find them! As this tuning position on the primary is changing with the power level, we are already pondering the possibility of loading an algoritm into the tapping point motor controller that will make the tapping point track that tuning position. That would be cool.
