Brandon,

#18 is fine for wiring from your NST to the rest of the components.  But the
wiring between your primary, MMC and Spark gap must carry high current
pulses, and so should be #12 or larger to minimize losses.

As soon as I finish my spark gap and make my MMC, I'll have everything  
to get my new coil up and running. I've been using (i think) 18 AWG  
solid copper wire to hook everything together. Is that adequate for  
linking all the components in a 15/30 NST 3.5" secondary coil setup?  
What do you guys use? What's good?
