RE: [TCML] Looking for decent LCR meter - ideas?

Wavetek got bought out and they no longer make the hand-held multimeters.

It looks like they sold off the line to Amprobe -- the 37XR-A looks realy
similar with some improvements in accuracy and measuring range.

Ordered one from Amazon for about $140 including tax. I could have saved
maybe $20 by shopping at one of the vendors listed in froogle but Amazon had
them in stock and I didn't have to pay anything for shipping.

Here is the link to the meter at Amprobe's website:

To everyone else -- many thanks for your recommendations!

The AADE Meter looks fascinating:

The project I am working on is an induction heater for blacksmithing small
items. You can buy a 1,800 Watt induction hot plate from Costco Business for
about $90. I want to see if I can kit-bash one of these and replace the
cooktop with a small solenoid winding that I can use to heat small pieces of
metal. A lot of the work I do is fairly small and it beats running a 70K BTU
propane forge for hours at a time.
