RE: [TCML] Isolation Transformers / 1:1 Transformers

I would be astounded if you could find a 900 watt transformer for under $50 from any source that knows what it is - at scrap value it's worth more than that, and if the copper were separated from the iron, probably double that. I have some smaller ones available (2.5 amp if memory serves, see my web page, wbnoble.com) that would meet your price range but NOT your current requirement. You are talikng about something in the 100 pound range at least, and if you want some operating margin, bigger. I did sell a constant voltage 1600 watt transformer to a friend for $60 a while back just to get it out of my yard, but it would not have met your needs either (not an isolation device). If you really want to hit that price point, you need to find wreckers that tear down old buildings and factories and tell them you will pay 10 cents per pound for old transformers and will pick them up at the job site - and then just take what turns up until you get what you want.

I have looked around and having a very hard time finding something promising in terms of affordable price (say much under $50).
