If you are going to make it the way you originally suggest, or even if you decide to use polyethylene and foil, which would be much better than glass, I'd definitely use oil instead of paraffin.  I had a HDPE and foil + linseed oil cap work fine for years.  This was on a low power coil.

I'm building my capacitor using window glass and brass sheets. I plan on
using paraffin instead of transformer oil. I would draw a vacuum on the
container while the paraffin is liquid to get the bubbles out and then let
it solidify. Will this work, or what problems will I have.
