Re: [TCML] parker globe for sale

Yes total pressure is very roughly 1/2 atm if my math serves me well. A conventional pump would be sufficient, I use an air conditioning compressor. The container must be very very clean for plasma life, but for just testing purposes anything will work, dirty or not. Generally the glass containers are washed with acid, and then filled with argon and let run for about a week to drive out all the air molecules, then they are emptied and filled with the final mix.

OK. That means to total pressure is near atmospheric? Sounds as if a conventional mechanical fore pump would be plenty good enough. How clean do the containers need to be?

There is your answer, I've got a bunch of formulas and more on the way, they should be published on my website by the end of the month (and yes I have mikes permission to do this, in fact he is excited about sharing his work!) Have fun.
