Anyway, I want to rebuild this 3phase transformer to be near saturation on the center leg and thus magnetize the two outer legs as well as possible. Since it is a symmetrical (all silicone steel legs of equal size, 2" wide).It is unclear to me if this will work.
snip Jim, Converting a 3-phase transformer to 1 phase duty, the best you can do is:Chuck core in vice, spit in hands, start reciting your favorite mantra, and hacksaw away for the next 20 minutes or so, that it is going to take to eliminate that pesky middle leg.
