Re: [TCML] TUNGSTEN TUNGSTEN TUNGSTEN

I have used a dremel and a cut off disk. mounted to the tool post of my lathe. A similar thing could be done with a dremel and a drill press. I kept the shop vac running sucking up the dust as I cut. I also wear a respirator when cutting W. The cut off disk lasts a surprisingly long time. I am not sure why. Cutting steel seems to use up the disks much faster.

I use one of the Dremel fiberglass reinforced cut off disks. Remember to do it outside if you're cutting 2% thoriated tungsten, and take a shower as soon as you're done cutting to get the dust off you.

Are you cutting 1/2" or larger rod this way? I've cut small diameter rod with a Dremel cutoff disk, but I feel like 1/2" may be a bit much.
