RE: [TCML] supposedly a tesla coil

First of all, I'm catching a drift that some are implying that Tesla
Coils are not dangerous. What's up with this? We experiment with
dangerous microwave oven, plate, neon and pole xfmrs and talk about them
as though they're nothing. I personally think the guys' project is
pretty darn cool! Wouldn't you agree that taking an old hand drill and
mounting a coil to the top and making his own version of a stun gun is
pretty creative? Thumbs up on this one! Looks to me like all the
armchair critics out there are just jealous that they didn't come up
with this one first! Give the guy some credit. My point is: take a look
at your own project and put safety on the front line and understand what
you're doing. I just lost a pole buddy two months ago who was working on
a "dead" and grounded 500kv transmission line... all because he and the
crew were not educated by a phenomena known as "induction". I think you
guys need to focus your attention more on the good qualities of someone
else's achievements rather than bashing them.

Anyway; enough of that. Be safe and above all, be positive.

Regards, Hank

someone should show him a REAL tesla coil.

To call that a tesla coil is like taking a firecracker and calling it a
bomb.

[not sure how much we wish to debate this....]

Depends, I'd think, on how one defines 'Tesla Coil'.
Tesla built iron/steel core 'coil' systems.

Seems to me there would be HF....

   Perhaps not elegant, but....
