BTW,

The 2" dowels are machined and mounted directly on the cap and mated by a
suspended, adjustable .5" all fine-thread, channel steel suspended target.
It is of course "robust" as needed. The goal is a gap that will be very
parallel. This is of some interest to the TC community as the blown gap I
used on my 8" coil was a horizontal 1" face of high mechanical accuracy.

Hi Jim,

I'm not sure how elevation will vary this value, but breakdown should be 
right at 50mils (pretty narrow). But depending on the surface of the 
dowels, elevation, pressure, etc.. the gap setting may need to be 
slightly larger a few mils to achieve a 5kv breakdown.
