RE: [TCML] Aluminum Disc

A very successful toroid that I've used was a corona ring used in 500kV
transmission equipment. I was a 3 1/2" tube in a 30" diameter. What I
did was weld an 1/8" sheet of aluminum into the center of this
"doughnut", and then mounted it on a small coil. With this toroid I
achieved an 84" discharge on a 30" X 6" coil. So I would go for it.

Subject: [TCML] Aluminum Disc

I started building this as a logo for a aluminum gate and the client
decided not to put one on it. I'm curious, with some smoothing and maybe

a 3" tube welded to the outside, would this be useful as a top load for
a coil. I have the ability to bend up to 3" in my shop into a full
circle.

Any thoughts?

Rob
