How important is the winding direction of the primary and secondary coils in
a VTTC?  Should they be wound in the same direction?  Should they be wound
in opposite directions?  Does it even matter?"

	Are you north or south of the equator?  Seriously, the relative phasing of the grid feedback coil and the plate coil has to be such that a negative swing in plate voltage corresponds to a positive swing in grid voltage but that's about it; secondary doesn't matter if you're not taking feedback from it somehow.  Can be accomplished with selection of relative winding direction or of "which end is which".
