Re: [TCML] Looking for feedback

Steve,

Have you tried running the coil without the RSG spinning ? just physcially align them and treat it as a static gap ? If it splutters then the gaps are too wide. If you have 2 sets of gaps (4 total), which is looks like you do, then bypass 2 of them and see if it improves things.

In my testing I had 2 gaps, see my poor RSG pics here http://www.future-technologies.co.uk/IMPULSE/hotstreamer/room/rsg.htm I found it next to impossible to get my 10KV transformer to jump 4 gaps, I found 2 gaps worked best for me. There will be mixed views on this though on the list.. Though that is what I found anyway. I don't know the gap measurements, some other guys on the list maybe able to help, though in my case it was only like 1mm per gap. with a RSG the spark will jump as soon as the electrodes are physcially close enough, so you could set them almost touching and not run into any problems as such... I'm no RSG expert, but maybe some food for thought...

HTH
Chris

Thanks Chris,

I understand that this is subjective - but can you define too wide? I got them as close as I could without collision, but I could probably go a tiny bit closer.

It sounds to me like the gaps are too wide, which is why it is probably
splutters... close down the gaps and try again see if that improves your
luck..
