Re: [TCML] A sad note of passing - John Couture

Yes, it saddens me to hear of his passing. I have fond memories of John. We spent quality hours discussing measurement techniques, program comparisons, and various physics discussions about Tesla coil operation. John had interesting approaches to measuring Q, coil power, etc.. This is a man that entered the world 24 years prior to the death of Nikola Tesla. John grew up in a very different time than most of us and he had some old school approaches to measurements which I found interesting and ingenious.

I feel as though a link back to Tesla's day and the years just following has said good bye. I guess time has a way of doing that.

I will miss John. I am proud to have known him (even if only due to our common interest with Tesla coils).

God speed John!

John was a terrific electrical engineer and a great enthuiast of Tesla's

When he was in good health he made many interestings posts to this Tesla
List.

John and his interesting comments will be sorely missed.

Hope he is happy and active in the land of the "Big Sparks".

Hi,

(This is an informational note only, for your records and posting if
you like on your web ring)

John H. Couture passed away on 4-7-08 in Milton, Florida after a
short stay in the hospital of "respiratory failure", he was 89 years
old. Please pass this on to his friends, as I knew he contributed to
the Tesla list over the years. I carried a web page of his books and
pictures for a few years. http://www.mgte.com

I am his oldest son Mike. I'd sell his Tesla "stuff" for postage but
my sister wants his papers and some of the other items like the
primary and caps. Why? Probably to sell, I don't really know. She is
also taking most of the books.

I may email you again once the estate is closed some time next year
if there are any "goodies" left, we shall see.

Best Regards,

Mike Couture
