Re: [TCML] JAVATC Questions

Hi Dennis,

You can't tie up the online version. All that is going on when you go to the online Javatc is that it loads the html and javascript into your browser. From that point, your personal computer has total control. Anyone else can go online at the same time a load it as well. Stay on there as long as you like.

It's odd you can't get it to run off line however. I suspect your browser options are not allowing it to run. Are you using IE, Firefox, or something else?

It does DC.? Although, I don't know whether I'm tying it up from someone else using it when I'm playing with it for a long time.? Otherwise, I'm OK with using it online.? Dennis

Nope, can't get her to run.? I occasionally get the message with the
option "allow blocked content to run."? I select that, but it doesn't run,
it just wipes out all my inputs.? I'm OK with doing it online?on Bart's
site.? Thx.? Dennis

Dennis:

I had the same problem. At the very top of your screen there is an area
which states "allow blocked content to run". You need to click this and
then it will run without problems. It's some kind of windows security
issue. I have a disc from Bart and this same thing occurs every time I
run
the program. Click and it runs fine.

Hi, I've got a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me with.

First, I'm having some trouble with the new version of JAVATC.? If I run
it off of Bart's site, it works fine.? But when I?downloaded it to my PC
I
have problems getting it to calculate.? After I?enter?the inputs & hit
the
calculate button, it won't calculate.? Am I doing something wrong, or
could
my PC be incompatible withe the new version?

Second question is how do you use the static gap calculator to determine
the right safety gap parameters?? In particular, my safety has 2 gaps,
essentially 2 hot terminals on either side of a common center terminal
which
is grounded.? I am using cabinet knobs as the terminals.? They are not
spheres, rather they look like a plain old door knobs with a relatively
flat, but still somewhat rounded convex face.? Do you select "flat" or
"round" on the calculator?? And since the terminals?aren't sphere, how
would
you calculate the diameter you need to input.?

And finally, what are the target values I should be trying to achieve in
the safety gap?

As always, thanks for your help.? Dennis Hopkinton MA
