Light in dark corners?

I have only seen one message identify WHICH 'neons'.

NE-2 type 'leetle inidcators', as noted will strike at 60-70 v.
Others may be referring to neon _sign_ tubing: longer, higher
strijke voltage.

'common household fluorescents', with filaments not lit, being longer,
take more (i COULD look it up) to strike, (and the strike voltage for
the Hg vapor is different...).
