I'll try to trim these off the subject.

The [PHISH] was added by a server-side email filter on someone's client
that replied to this thread. Some spam filters (most of the hardware
filters) add indications to the subject like [BULK] or [PHISH] which the
email client (or another link in the server) is supposed to filter out or
into a different directory. I've seen Barracuda spam firewalls do this in
particular, but others may do it as well. This email was obviously
incorrectly classified.

Regarding ways to make the motor mount adjustable to permit phase
adjustment, John Freau's electronic phase adjuster makes that completely
unnecessary. All you need is a small Variac and a motor run capacitor.
For my Teletype motor I used a 2 Amp Variac and a 40uF run cap. Photos
& schematic at http://www.laushaus.com/tesla/sync_gap.htm

How did [PHISH] get into the subject line?

How much phase change (shaft position WRT no adjustment) did you get? Variacs without gaps in the core are more nearly variable saturable reactors than inductors I should think. Wondered about the PHISH for the last several posts.
