Speaking of Synchronous motors, can anyone advise me on how to hook up a teletype motor? It has two black leads and two red ones as well an additonal two black ones for a capacitor I believe. I also need to find a good value for the starter capacitor. Any advise????

Describe the motor in more detail. I have several different TTY machines with motors here [pretty well hidden away but reachable] and could try to compare notes. Not all have capacitors but some do. What does the nameplate say and what machine did it come from?
