Re: 18" sparks at 2KVA

Steve,

I also wire my twin MOT'd VTTC in this manner,
just like Cameron. As a matter of fact, Cameron's
VTTC (which was inspired by yours, I believe) in-
spired me to finally take the VTTC "leap" from my
previously SG coils only. The only way that I ever
got my 833A tube to arc over internally was to fire
my coil with a 7200 volt PT. The 2-seriesed MOTs
through a doubler have never casued that to occur
in my experience. Of course, I can't really turn up
my variac past about 85 on the dial (0-140 volts
output) as the MOTs begin to rapidly saturate and
draw over 25 amps with or without spark output at
this point.
