Ben,

That's a nice find on used pole pigs. All of these are 7200/12,470
volt units though, which is a bit low voltage for a high powered coil sys-
tem's primary circuit drive voltage. Since you are most likely running
single
phase, you have to use the lower voltage of the 2 hyphenated voltage
listings of the transformer, which in this case is 7200 volts. Most pig
coilers go with a 14,400/24,900 volt rated transformer, which will
give 14,400 volts. Of course, if you wanted to build a really aggressive
power supply, you could always series output 2 of those 7200 volt
units for 14,400 volts with a 30 kVA rating ;^)
