Hi David,

As for the controller, I assume you are getting power and pulse indicators,
and if so, just make sure you've got the green wire grounded and the black
wire connected to the filament. You might try swapping which filament leg
you are connecting it to. But I wouldn't worry too much about this until you
get the coil going again in non-staccato.

I would ground one leg of the filament (you may have to experiment with
which leg you ground - I ground the pin with the flat edge). Then I would
try swapping the connection of the grid coil. In some instances, I've
noticed that the direction of this coil would prevent oscillation.
