Hi,

At 05:25 PM 10/3/2006, you wrote:
Ok.... the only caps I have right now are 11x 910pF caps.... so the highest capacitance I can go is 0.01uF

If I were to use a 12000v 30ma transformer needing 0.006631uF then would it be safe using 0.01uF with pi/2* 0.006631 = 0.010416uF is that safe enough?

Yes ;-)))

You are the first person to tell me about this rule.... everywhere else I have read it says resonant.

It "used" to be cool... But no longer... All the old books and stuff from 5+ years back are all wrong now :-((

 for a 9kv 30ma transformer 11x 910pf is still low.....

Better... 9kV transformers are tough... Hard to say... I would worry...

Cheers,
