Re: NEW? CDE caps

The 100 I ordered from RE were the leaded ones at 2.58 a pop, but got the lead free ones (942c20p15k-F) after about 8 weeks, which run 3.22 from them, at no extra cost. Luck I guess.

Hi,

The "new" caps are fine. They changed the specs
too from the old but all for the better. They
are using a better polymer now so the temp specs
are higher and they wind them a bit better so the
size is smaller. Poly caps are still evolving so
they change a bit now and then, but nothing to
worry about. They are or will go lead free soon
and that will raise the price about 10%.

Cheers,

        Terry

I received a few days ago some CD caps from Dr. R , quick service and good looking capsThanks Dr. R . I started to lay then on my pre-drilled Lexan sheet used to mount them on and they looked a little small from the spec sheet I had downloaded from CDE. Not a big difference but to a machinist trained eye I could see it. Has any one tested the new smaller caps?
