concerning the subj of this thread i`m more interested in discussing
such facts like this:

"ONLY solid state gaps has acceptable turn on characteristics."
"Gap types exhibited the expected volt-time lag characteristics"
"the existence of a volt-time characteristic for the breakdown"

and especially like this:

"500 +-100V gap, 1100 volts applied surge - breakdown in 7 uS"
&
"No breakdown could be produced with a single shot impulse below
1100v"
