Hi Gerry,

I normally us an equivalent gap resistance of 3 ohms. I think you can use 0.3 ohms in this case but I have not really tested or studied that to be sure. Looks like 1/10 to 1/3 the power dissipation in a full coil system.

Hi,

I just did some dynamic power and resistance testing today.

Nothing too dramatic.  Mostly double checks and follow ups.

A little more testing and then to get on to getting a real coil working with it. A list member has a perfect big DC MOT system right now, so I don't have to mess with the coil building :-))
