While it's good to leave open the possibility of opening your secondary
in the future, I've never had to.  I just used metal screws to fasten
the cap to the tube.  I think many are needlessly paranoid about using
metal fasteners anywhere near the pri/sec coils.  Don't worry - they're
fine.

I have heard concerns about using things with flammable or potentially
explosive fumes inside a secondary.  Sounds reasonable, though I've
never heard of such a mishap.  With silicone glue, I don't think the
fumes are explosive - just nasty/smelly with acetic acid.
