Re: center hub g10 attachment revisited

Gentelmen:
I use one of those on a 1/2HP,,10,000RPM,,3/8 shaft, Dayton Motor,
10 inch G10 disk w/4,1/2 X 1and1/2 inch tungsten electrodes.
!'ve run the motor to full RPM,,badly out of balance (I was 30ft away),just
to test the holding capability of the transtourqe,I thought the work bench it was
c-clamped to would vibrate to pieces or the motor would disintergrate.About a
minuite or so run,,I ramped the moter up to 140 volts w/variac and turned it
slowly back down. Probably around 12-14 thousand RPM. After it finally
stopped spinning I tested the tightness of the hub,,I couldn't move it.
I have full confidence in them.I have mine mounted backwards,ie:the tightning
nut next to the motor as it not long enough to extend thru 1/2" of G10 and
sill interface the brass to the 4" flange the G10 is attached to w/3,bolts and nuts.

Hello,
Is anyone out there familiar with the Trantorque GT. It does not
use bolt through solution here?s a link if Terry would be so kind
to allow it or move it

Yep - have used them. They expand into the inside of the mounted
gear or disk, and squeeze down on the shaft. Tolerance of parts must
be very close to that specified for the hub.

<http://www.smallparts.com/products/descriptions/ttq- mttq.cfm>http://www.smallparts.com/products/descriptions/ttq-mttq.cfm

but my machinist gave me some much better engineering data which I
can scan and send on if there is interest it may be on their site
somewhere?.or elsewhere at a distributor.

I believe Berg carries these, and probably for less $ than Small
Parts. Actually, anyone you can find is probably cheaper than Small
Parts.
