space windiing is a process of adding some type of "filler" ( normally something like nylon fishing line) to space the secondary wire away from itself in the normal winding process.... advantages?? reduces the capacitance of the secondary... disadvantages makes the secondary doubled in length, added frustration in the winding process, added cost... hmmm lets see one advantage 3 disadvantages

99% of secondaries are not space wound  :)

100% of my secondaries are not space wound   :)
