FW: Pilot hole sizing for Type-F Thread Cutting Screws ? ? ?

Original poster: "Rich" <rdjmgmt@xxxxxxxxxx>

Opps , my first time I put down the size for a 12-24 it should be #25 ,
.1495 for a tapped hole. Duh I guess that is why I am retired.

Rich

Type "F", I understand STD threads and type "J" or round root radius
threads but what do you mean for type "F". A standard 10-24 takes a #16
or .177 drill.

Anyone know what the pilot hole size would need to be to use a 10-24 Type-F Thread Cutting screw. My handy Machinist Handbook didn't seem to have the info in it (or at least i couldn't find it)

Thanks
Dan
