Re: Propeller Gaps & Timing!

Hi Jeremiah,

The first thing I would do is increase your capacitance to 2.8*Cres. I use 55 nf for my 15KV/120ma source and fire at 24KV. With your smaller cap, you will be able to get higher voltages and this may be why you can't keep the safeties from firing. Also, if you advance your timing some (earlier in time), you can bring this voltage down to where your safeties don't fire. Safeties firing with SRSG are bad as it screws up the timing. You might also mention what the current safety spacing is as max spacing may not be enough.

I have been ajusting my syncronious gap for half an
hour now, and I can't seem to get the timing right!

I have a 15/120 nst that is charging a 0.05uF MMC.
That's *2.35 : 1* for the needed cap for a Static
setup.

The safty gaps are set at max voltage break down and
are firing at only 70% of full power

I am absolutely SHURE that my motor is salent pole
syncronious @ 1800rpm in case anyone is wondering.

What should I do to get this thing to work?????
