Re: home grown plasma globe

How much would a supply be Dr. R? It'd be nice to have a 30" globe full of xenon (or what ever is used for the TC-ground-arc white color), but at $9600 just for the globe everywhere I googled, a bit out of my price range for a few years. Hence the flask version, even tho just the 72L flask is nearly $1000. Kinda sucks everything on the biggish side and glass is expensive. Probably should learn to blow my own lol.

We have a dual MOSFET circuit that drives our large flyback and globes up to 30 inch dia.

Dr. Resonance

I don't know if this helps, but a 24" globe with 100L flask at the Museum
of Science used a single 40VDC supply and power FET feeding the flyback.
I don't know what the waveform applied to the gate looked like.
