RE: series or parallel???

Original poster: Terry Fritz <vardin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi,

I wrote up a small paper on this subject at:

http://hot-streamer.com/TeslaCoils/MyPapers/primarycircuits/pricir.html

Put the gap across the transformer. The shorted gap will block the RF stresses from getting to the NST secondary windings. We suspect that RF on the super high inductance NST windings will drop very high voltages in just the first winding layer and may cause failure.

Cheers,

        Terry

Hello Daniel-

I also had asked that same question. Here is a link to the thread archive -

Hope it helps.

Take care,

Subject: series or parallel???

Original poster: "Langer Giv'r" <transworldsnowboarding19@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi again, I have seen many schematics where the spark gap is series
and the Capacitor is parallel and vice-versa... Which is hte proper
way to put the LC circuit, which is parallel and which is
series?? Thanks for input.
