I am building my first Tesla coil. My secondary coil is going to be 4.5" by
24" on PVC. My plan was to build a flat primary coil with 12 turns of 3/8
over all diameter copper pipe, however it came out cone shaped. Will I have
any problems or will I be ok?

Zan,

It will be OK. Simply raise the secondary as needed to eliminate
any racing sparks that may occur on the secondary due to too-close
coupling.
