I prefer to not do things in secret, but instead to first widely discuss
them and see if my ideas are old news already tested ...or to see what
flaws in them that others can turn up.

Heh. My technique involves spending years trying to get inside Tesla's
skull and think in the same way. When recently reading Tesla material,
his stuff about xray tubes suddenly makes perfect sense. When I first
started back in the 1980s, his writing seemed totally obscure or crazy,
but bit by bit I found that it had almost zero errors.

I haven't yet developed an aversion to pearls or a need to polish my
spoons. But I have come close to similar nervous breakdowns, and I've
started noticing many little references to one of Tesla's favorite
techniques: getting into a creative psychosis by refusing to sleep for
days or weeks. :)
