Re: PTK supply for lifter

Harold,

Yo might keep an eye on junk on ebay. I have some nice laser power supplies in cool clear cases I bought when I worked at Walt Disney World in '92 from the surplus property lot that I had no data for. Then in 2002, I saw and bought a laser off the ebay that used the same units, but was a working system. Thus I obtained the hookup data without burning up the nice supplies...although I did have to wait 10 years for the info. I have a couple of similar units to what you describe, but no more info than what you mentioned. I just gutted the units at the time without making any notes, unfortunately. Good luck!

Hi Adam,

It's a black box, 3" x 4" x 1" in size. It has to be some sort of solid state multiplier given the size. I just need to figure out the wiring before applying power, so I don't fry this great find. I pulled this out of an old computer terminal. (date 1982) I have seen this used in a home built Van de Graff as an ion sprayer, but I can't find a wiring diagram for it.

Where did you get this supply from? Is is a actual circuit are or you just
looking at the flyback itself? If it's just a flyback, you'll need a proper
circuit to drive it, like a self resonant oscillator circuit or a 555 driven
transistor circuit, I myself am working on a adjustable high voltage supply
to power a lifter that has a cord for standard house wiring and terminals
for a 12 volt battery or equivalent for field use. Which I will be sellling
when I complete it. Look up "flyback drivers" on google to see what kind of
circuit can power a standard flyback.
