Well, the size is much smaller than a MOT for the same power, also, many
people are pushing the TV flybacks to the limit, the highest power I've seen
is about 300 watts, and normally they burn out shortly after this, with this
flyback, you can wind your own secondary to get the voltage you want and
then pot it in oil, if you do everything right, you can easily take the
output up to a 1000 watts and not have to worry about it bursting into
flames like TV flybacks.
