CajunCoiler,

as dielectrics, cerramics have a very desirable K value and good
voltage breakdown characteristics, but exhibit a very high loss in RF
circuits. i would definately avoid. not only that, but you'll need
quite a few of them to reach the desired capacitance.

if you HAVE to use saltwater caps, glass 12oz beer bottles or 750mL
vodka bottles work well enough.
