We could drain one and just ship the core/coil assembly which they could put in a bucket of oil. This weighs in around 140 lbs. vs. full xmfr at 305 lbs.

Hi All,

This may sound crazy, but im looking to buy a pole pig in the US and
ship it to Australia, im strugling to buy one down here, at the right
price, ive even chased SWER line transformers, i beleive there are
also dry types of pole transformers?

If any one has any for sale please contact me off list, so i can get
dimensions weight ect, and check shipping customs cost etc.
Thank's in advance Paul.

Paul,

You might have better luck shipping a potential transformer. Their power rating is lower but they are dry. I don't know what you would do about the oil in a distribution transformer. Maybe have someone just take the core out of one and ship it to you? Maybe Dr. Resonance can do it at his company?
