Choke

I was sorting out things today and ran across two Stancor chokes 
C-2687's.  They are .010 Henries -at- 8 amp DC. They are wound with 13ga wire 
, .15 ohms , 1500 V insulation . I am going to set up a coil with 
a  transformer at 240v input,13Kv -at- 150ma out. This will mean about 8amp on 
the 240. Can these chokes be set up as part of a resistive / inductive 
ballast for the transformer.
