Well I guess so, but it's also entirely possible in theory to make black 
holes and travel through time ;) How long would it take to make a MMC out 
of 100,000 varactor diodes? Or are you thinking of rapidly squeezing and 
stretching the primary with some sort of crankshaft arrangement... Come to 
think of it, what does "Q switching" mean, the only time I heard that word 
was when I asked "What does this part of your laser do" at an optics trade show
