I'm sorry to hear that things are not going the way you hoped.  But
implying that Dan's coil might not have hit 14 inches is not going to
help anyone, particularly yourself.  Part of the fun of coiling is
learning from your own mistakes, and the experience of others.  You may
need to reconstruct your coil or modify more parameters before you get
decent results.
