Cheesehead Teslathon news update

Original poster: "Dr. Resonance by way of Terry Fritz <teslalist-at-qwest-dot-net>" <resonance-at-jvlnet-dot-com>

A few more notes on our Cheesehead Teslathon:

(1) We will have a portable table loaded with test equipment to examine any
coil that experimenters wish to set up. Terry's planar antenna, a slow
charge pulser for controlled single shots, a 30 kV DC supply to check your
spark gap breakdown level, and a ground ball single shot output potential
measuring device, storage scope -- bring your digital camera to take a
photo of your coil's waveshape, a 20 kV Tek HV probe used with the DSO,
Wavetek meter, etc.

(2) Terry F. said he will try to make it he will show us all the best way
to use his planar antenna. I'll bet Terry will see a few future orders for
these planar antennas because they work great on coils both small and large.

(3) We will have a coil setup with a 13-14 ft. spark running after 7:30 PM.

(4) The car show will start around 3 PM and run into the early
evening. The TC's will run from 3 PM until 9-10 PM or until we all get tired.

(5) The sponsor of the car show group, Dave Deppe, is running a large pig
roast at 6 PM. All the arriving cruisers are bringing a dish to pass ---
that's around 300 dishes to go along with the pig roast.

(6) We plan on taking a small collection of attendees for the local boys &
girls club (shelter). Dave's running this part.

(7) We will have two coils --- one with a 6 ft. spark and the larger one
with 13 ft. spark. We also plan on hauling in our 300 kV Cockroft-Walton
to do some hair-standing experiments for the kids.

If you need a motel call 800-670-7275 Park Plaza motel giving us a
$76/night rate if you tell them you are with the Cheesehead
Convention. They have an indoor pool and included restruant. Call early
as they are only holding 20 rooms total.

Anyone who wants a 14.4 kV, 10 kVA pole xmfr should contact me in the next
few days so we can make arrangements to get them down there.

It should be fun. Hope to see you all there around 12 noon on Sat. Sept. 6th.
