Suing and winning are different.  As they say, you can sue anyone for
anything, whether you will win is a different story. Also, don't forget that
the vast majority of lawsuits never go to court, but end in settlement, so
the filing of a suit is merely a tool towards getting a settlement.  Sad but
true. (Plea bargins in criminal cases sometimes seem to fall into the same
category.)

For a somewhat "interesting" story related to this, check out the somewhat
unusual history of the "Trevor Law Group" in Los Angeles.  They took the
idea of suing to settle to an extreme, and were recently disbarred.
