New PT's from local supplier (builds medium voltage
[up to 15kV] switch gear) is in the $1200 range.  So $350
comparatively speaking is a good price, but a PDT can be
picked up for about the same price or less with certainly
lower per unit kVA cost.

Also PT's are generally instrument grade (from 2% worse
case to super accurate 0.3%) so they command a higher
relative cost, then a general purpose power transformer.
For TC uses, using a PT is kinda like using a Cadillac
Escalade to run the Baya 1000 versus using an PU of
your liking; both will go some distance, both are likely
to break, one is ALOT more expensive then the alternative...
