Best to plow down to your local library and pick up a copy of "The Radio
Amateur's Handbook".  Their fundamentals section has clear explanations of Q
factor, k factor, and other electronics such as dielectric strength,
sections of caps, sections on inductance and inductors, etc.  It also covers
frequency, frequency deviations, frequency splitting, etc.

It's basic and published in very clear to understand form.  Almost every
medium size local library has one.
