Hi Ben,
The 829B is a twin beam power tube (two tubes in the same envelope). They are
rated for 150W max input ICAS even with forced air cooling, and a max plate
voltage of 750V, which may be a little low for TC work. Plate dissipation is
only 45 Watts with a bulb temp of 235C. (455F.) IIRC, beam power tubes are
finicky oscillators, but folks on this list have done some pretty atypical
things.
