I thought an arc rod or "Jesus stick" were both consisting of a
non-conductive rod with a grounded metal knob or bolt to draw off arcs to
ground, much like what you discribe minus the oil. Now that I read this
post, I'm not so sure. So, what exactly is an arc rod or Jesus stick? I am
alittle confused by the 30 foot minimum length of an arc rod you speak of.
Earlier you mentioned you spoke of making a device for drawing off sparks
that was only 10 feet long.

Just lookin for clarification.

>Anyhow, after this sucker is done I'll never have to worry about a "arc
rod" or "jesus stick" again, given that I clean it once in a while.
