Click on the following for tests of the mutual inductance and the K
Factor.Your computer will need the Acrobat program.

This test should give you the mutual inductance that agrees with the JHCTES
Ver 3.3 TC program. Two other tests that should be made are for finding the
actual operating frequency and the K Factor.

Keep in mind that testing Tesla coils is not an easy task. One of the
problems you may be confronted with is that the program dimensions (outputs)
for the pri coil must agree with the actual coil. The avg pri coil radius
input for the program is only for the turns actually used not the turns
installed. This also applies to the pri width of turns input. Another
possibility is that the actual operating frequency does not agree with the
program operating frequency. If this occurs then adjust the sec term pf
until the actual op frequency appears in the inputs. This would then give
you the true capacitance of the sec term.

I will be interested in hearing of your results. There is always the
possibility the program or tests should be changed to agree with the real
world.
